VINEYARD AND TERROIR : OUR AUTHENTICITY

BEAUMONT des CRAYERES provides a perfect description of the quality of our soil: “BEAUMONT” expresses the hillside location of the vineyard, “CRAYERES” is a reference to the highly specialised nature of the mother-rock of the finest crus of Champagne, namely chalk. Our associated wine growers have cultivated the vineyards with passion for BEAUMONT des CRAYERES for three generations. Today, we are committed to a carefully thought-out approach to viticulture. Three-quarters of the vineyard, with an area of 86 hectares, is situated on the hillsides of Epernay. We also have parcels in Cumières, Hautvillers and Dizy, Trépail or Avize, Le Mesnil sur Oger and Oger. Our planting is composed of the three major grape varieties of the Champagne region: Chardonnay (25%) for freshness and finesse; Pinot Noir (15%) for body and structure, and Pinot Meunier (60%) for aromatic softness and roundness. Mardeuil is one of the best-known vineyards in the Champagne region for the Pinot Meunier variety, which explains its strong presence in our harvest.
