Outstanding harvest 2015
2015 has been the warmest and driest year ever recorded in Champagne. The harvest started under a glorious sun on the first weekend of September. The old pinot meunier vines were the first to be picked, with total alcohol content close to 11%. Throughout all the following week, the weather remained just as favourable. Very nice pinots meuniers and chardonnay were harvested, followed by beautiful pinots noirs at the weekend.
Overall, the harvest lasted 12 days and the average degree in the vatroom reached 10,6 %. The alcoholic fermentations are now almost completed, making way for the malolactic fermentation.
The first tastings reveals promising wines, with beautiful aromatic expressions. Great fruitiness and elegance are combined with a strong structure on the palate.
The harvest 2015 will certainly be a vintage for the champagnes Beaumont des Crayères. It will most probably be a very great vintage.
