Tasting still wines at Beaumont des Crayères

Before becoming champagne, each cuvée begins its journey as a still wine—a still wine made from the year’s harvest that has not yet undergone secondary fermentation in the bottle. This is a key moment in the Champagne cycle, allowing the potential of the wines from the latest harvest to be assessed before they are blended and undergo secondary fermentation.

Our tasting committee recently met to taste the clear wines of the vintage, paying particular attention to our emblematic grape variety: Meunier.

Our cellar master, @Gauthier Quatrevaux, shares his impressions:

“Fresh and elegant Meuniers with aromas of white fruits, lovely citrus notes, and impressive length on the palate.”

A pure and balanced expression of Meunier, marked by finesse and character, which illustrates the meticulous work carried out in the vineyard and in the cellar, and heralds some fine cuvées to come. 🍾
